GRADUATE STUDIES
GRA 201 Research Methods (3 cr)
This course will cover research methods with particular emphasis on Celtic Studies. It's aim is to help students learn about available resources and about how to effectively incorporate the work of other scholars into one's own writing. Open to all students.
GRA 301 Master’s Thesis Research (3 cr)
A supervised research project in an area of the student's choice
GRA 601 Doctoral Dissertation Research and Writing (3 cr)
This course may be taken more than once for credit. It entails work on the student's doctoral dissertation in consultation with the dissertation advisor. The topic is to be arranged by the student and his or her advisor.
GRA 602. Mentoring Practicum I (3 cr)
Prerequisite LS 401 Teaching and Mentoring. Consisting of consultations with fellow Druid grade students, faculty advisors, on the art of mentoring. Students will work as mentors for first and second-year students.
GRA 603 Mentoring Practicum II (3 cr)
Prerequisite GRA 602. Second quarter of Mentoring sequence.
GRA 604. Teaching Practicum I (3 cr)
Prerequisite LS 401 Teaching and Mentoring. Students will teach courses as arranged by the faculty, acting as principal teachers under supervision of a senior faculty member. Course design, timing, pedagogical tricks and tips, and working with difficult students will be discussed in fortnightly meetings with faculty advisers overseeing the practica.
GRA 605. Teaching Practicum II (3 cr)
Prerequisite: GRA 604. Second course in teaching practica sequence.
GRA 606. Teaching Practicum III (3 cr)
Prerequisite: GRA 605. Third course in teaching practica sequence.
